Photovoice
Photovoice is based on three core ideas:
-
Photography gives people a voice, especially those whose stories are often overlooked.
-
Images spark deeper reflection and discussion about personal and social issues.
-
Sharing photos can influence awareness, policy, and change.
It was developed in the 1990s by Caroline Wang and Mary Ann Burris as a way to help communities document issues affecting their lives and use the images to advocate for solutions.
